Money makes the world go round, even more so when you’re running a criminal empire. You need money to do most things in Saints Row, from upgrading your weapons and cars to buying all the latest fashion items. Thankfully, for the leader of a criminal gang, there’s no end to the ways you can keep the cash rolling in, and it suits whatever playstyle you prefer.
Whether you like mowing down your enemies with your full arsenal, putting your driving skills to the test, or just sitting doing nothing, you can earn cash doing it in Saints Row. We’ll run you through the best methods of earning lots of money as quickly as possible.
The big main missions bring in plenty of money, but if you want a little bit of pocket change, just pick up some smaller side-hustles instead. These will have you doing lots of fun things like leaving bad reviews and shooting the people who show up for retribution, or riding on top of a car and shooting everyone who chases you.
Ok, we’ll be real with you, most of the ways to earn money in this game involve shooting a lot of people.
There are 125 drug pallets to search for in Saints Row, and thankfully they all appear on your map. You won’t be able to see all of them straight away, but as you fulfil other tasks in the area they’ll start to appear. Each one of these you collect earns you a little bit of money and XP. Although the amount is small they’re very easily found around the world, making it quite a quick method.
One of the first apps you get access to is the Wanted app which will give you a bunch of random targets to take out in different scenarios. It might be a matter of tracking them down and killing them, or you may have to chase them across the city before they get away. Whatever the job, you’ll get compensated nicely.
Once you have access to the criminal empire map, you’ll be able to complete a series of side missions to increase the amount of money each venture earns. It can take a bit of time to complete them all, but it’s worth it, as these will earn you the biggest money over time. Not only will your passive income increase, but you’ll get a huge lump-sum payout once you’ve completed every goal that you can invest in your next venture.
If you played many open-world games during the later 2000s or early 2010s you’ll be familiar with banking systems in games. These systems would see you invest in some way to earn money back at regular intervals. They tick down as long as you have the game open, which makes them deliciously exploitable because you can just leave the game open while you do anything else and slowly earn money over time.
These systems do have an earnings cap, but as long as you come back and collect every couple of hours, that limit is virtually non-existent.
