Ole Miss baseball vs. Southern Miss in NCAA Super Regionals Game 2: Live score updates – Clarion Ledger

Ole Miss baseball will have a chance to score its first College World Series berth since 2014 on Sunday in Hattiesburg against in-state foe Southern Miss.
The Rebels (36-22) battle the Golden Eagles (47-18) from Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg on Sunday (3 p.m., ESPNU). Ole Miss defeated Southern Miss 10-0 in the first game of the super regional Saturday, putting the Rebels within one win of a trip to Omaha. Southern Miss will have to win back-to-back games to win the series and advance to their first College World Series since 2009.
Freshman left-hander Hunter Elliott will take the mound for the Rebels. Elliott (3-3, 3.17 ERA) has been Ole Miss’ most important pitcher at the end of the season. The Rebels have won the last four games Elliott started and Elliott has a 2.78 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 22 ⅔ innings across those starts.

Southern Miss will counter with sophomore right-hander Tanner Hall. Hall (9-2, 2.60 ERA) won the Ferriss Trophy for best college player in Mississippi this season, owning 140 strikeouts compared to 13 walks. He pitched twice in Southern Miss’ regional win, allowing two earned runs in 10 innings with 10 strikeouts.
Ole Miss is 1-8 in games that can send it to the College World Series since 2005. Southern Miss has never been in this position; the Golden Eagles swept their one previous super regionals appearance.
First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU and available to stream online via WatchESPN.
