The big boys are headed to Williamsport.
One of baseball’s most cherished traditions is the Little League World Series. Held annually in Williamsport, Pa., the tournament represents the sport at its absolute purest.
With the Orioles and Red Sox set to descend upon the city during the 2022 series, MLB is getting in on the action again.
The MLB Little League Classic returns for its fifth edition. This year’s game is a clash of divisional rivals battling for supremacy on a Sunday night.
The matchup was initially scheduled for the 2020 season, but COVID-19 halted those plans.
Sunday’s game will be a real spectacle, and with both sides hoping to secure a victory as they compete for a wild-card spot, it will be an interesting affair.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 MLB Little League Classic, including TV information, location and details regarding the uniforms.
The clash between the Orioles and Red Sox is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 21.
Sunday’s game will be broadcast on ESPN. The game is part of the network’s “Sunday Night Baseball” package. Karl Ravech will handle the play-by-play duties while David Cone and Eduardo Perez will offer analysis.
ESPN2 will carry a “KidsCast” alternate broadcast featuring 18-year old Max Wallace and 14-year old Leo Roth on commentary and 11-year-old Pepper Persley reporting from the field.
Cord-cutters can stream the game on ESPN+ or MLB.tv (with a subscription), as well as fuboTV, which offers a free trial.
The Little League Classic comes to Williamsport for the fifth time. To accommodate for the necessary bigger field dimensions, though, the game will be held at Bowman Field, a minor league stadium in the city. Little League World Series games take place at Volunteer Stadium and the well-known Lamade Stadium.
Bowman Field is home to the Williamsport Crosscutters, a collegiate summer baseball team that competes in the MLB Draft League. With a capacity of less than 3,000, the venue will offer an intimate environment for the sport’s finest to duke it out.
Unlike in years past, the Orioles and Red Sox will wear their normal uniforms for the 2022 Little League Classic. It’s a bit of a disappointment, especially considering how fresh some of the alternate uniforms used for the game were.

The 2018 contest fell on Players Weekend as well. The Mets and Phillies sported colorful jerseys that featured nicknames and patches on the side.

And although the 2021 Little League World Series looked vastly different than ones in the past because of COVID-19 restrictions, Cleveland and the Angels kept up with the uniform tradition. Both teams wore jerseys referencing their regional affiliation, a nod to the LLWS’s new format.
