Who wouldn’t want some protection from scary mobs? Check out this guide on how to make a shield in Minecraft and roam around freely.
Dying in Minecraft is a nightmare for players but shields can help them avoid such difficult situations. Here’s a guide on how to make a shield in Minecraft.

There are many ways to protect yourself and progress in Minecraft. You can use offensive tools like swords to fight enemies and use the strongest in-game materials to craft your armor.
Having said that, at the outset of your journey, you might have to rely a lot on shields. They block nearby attacks and allow you to be more stress-free during exploration.
From the crafting ingredients to the recipe, here’s everything to know about making shields in Minecraft.
You need six wooden planks and an iron ingot to make a shield in Minecraft. Both these ingredients are fairly easy to find implying that a shield can very well be one of the first items you craft in the game.
You can get wooden planks in Minecraft from wooden logs. Many biomes in the Overworld are filled with trees and you can break them to get logs. Thereafter, put a bunch of logs in a block of the crafting grid and they’ll turn into planks.
Iron ingots can be obtained in Minecraft through smelting. Find iron ore or raw iron blocks from the Overworld (it usually spawns in underground caves) and put them in a furnace to get iron ingots.
Iron ingot is a great crafting ingredient as you can make a wide range of valuable items with it. Just to name a few, these include a smithing Table, shears for collecting honey, compass, and bucket, among other things.
In case you don’t have a furnace for smelting raw iron, just place eight cobblestone pieces in a 3×3 crafting table and leave the central slot empty:
You can get iron ingots directly from the Overworld in Minecraft as well. Some locations where you might find them are:
After getting iron ingots and wooden planks, you can easily make a shield in Minecraft. Place the iron ingot in the middle block of the topmost row on a crafting table and surround it with wooden planks. Add another wooden plank to the central block of the bottom row to get a shield:
You can use your shield in Minecraft to avoid melee attacks and the status effects that they apply. Moreover, you no longer have to worry about threats like arrows, spitting Llamas, Fireballs, creeper explosions, pufferfish spines, and tridents.

A new leak from a Grand Theft Auto insider claims that Rockstar Games will make an official announcement about GTA 6 soon.
According to a notable Grand Theft Auto leaker, Rockstar Games might make an official GTA 6 announcement alongside an in-game GTA Online event.

Grand Theft Auto players have been keeping an eye out for any news about GTA 6 ever since Rockstar Games confirmed that it’s in development, and the devs have made it clear that it will set creative benchmarks.
Numerous leaks and reports have given us possible details about the map, characters, and runtime of the GTA 5 follow-up. Now, it’s being reported that might get another official announcement from Rockstar soon.
Prominent insider Tez2 claimed in a GTAForums thread that Rockstar Games are planning to add UFOs to GTA Online 16 days before Halloween, and a stealth UFO will pop up in the game on October 23.
He then explained that this is connected to an “interesting mystery hunt” in which GTA Trilogy players discovered a picture of an unknown house displayed within Lil’ Probe’Inn, a UFO-themed bar.
The photo caught the interest of the Grand Theft Auto community because players couldn’t identify the house from any Rockstar title, and there was a UFO flying behind it. Tez claims that this might be relevant to GTA 6.
He added in another comment in the thread that there’s a “high chance” that Rockstar Games are planning an official GTA 6 announcement which will take place at the time of the GTA Online Halloween event.
Tez 2 explained: “There’s no in-game hint towards GTA 6 within GTA Online files. Rockstar is cautious enough not to do that. But the hint may arrive within the tweet Rockstar will prepare to talk about the UFOs happening on GTA Online.”
According to Tez2, Rockstar might leave a hint for GTA 6’s announcement in a tweet promoting the UFO Halloween event. It may be in a small extra newspaper section discussing tropical storms.
However, since this is currently just a leak, there’s no way to be certain that Rockstar are actually planning a GTA 6 announcement alongside a Halloween UFO event. We’ll need to wait and see if the developers officially announce anything.

FIFA 23 players feel major changes to Ultimate Team’s FUT Champions are required to save the competition from being too taxing of a grind.
FUT Champions is Ultimate Team’s elite competition where players compete to earn the game’s top rewards, but with more game modes than ever in FIFA 23, players want changes to make the grind less time-consuming.

Ultimate Team should once again be the main attraction of the franchise as FIFA 23’s September 30 release date beckons. As players discover FIFA 23’s new offerings like the revamped chemistry system and promos, there will also be more gameplay to enjoy.
Not only will players get the chance to complete Squad Battles, Division Rivals, and FUT Champions matches, but FUT Moments will also make its way to FIFA this year.
The abundance of gameplay options and modes is already being viewed as a double-edged sword by FIFA players. More modes certainly equate to more Ultimate Team rewards up for grabs, including packs and coins.
However, with so many different modes on offer, players will have to choose how to allocate their time as the grind to earn all objectives continues to grow. FUT Champions is without a doubt the most grueling Ultimate Team mode.
It offers the best rewards, but it also takes a ton of time to complete the required matches to firstly qualify, and then earn wins in FUT Champions against the game’s best players. One player took to the FIFA subreddit to voice their opinion on why FUT Champions needs to change in FIFA 23.
As Adventurous_Team285 puts it, “the amount of time needed if you want to complete the grind is getting really intense.” They describe Weekend League, also known as FUT Champions, as the most significant chore of the bunch.
In FIFA 22, players were required to complete 20 matches in three days from Friday to Sunday. That number does not include the Play-Offs portion that is required to qualify for FUT Champions. It also doesn’t include other modes that players must play to earn all available rewards.
Most players simply don’t have enough time to complete all of these objectives. For this reason, the OP suggests that cutting down from the 20 games required in FUT Champions would be a much-needed change moving forward.
The majority of players agreed that FUT Champions requires major changes, but most offer their own unique solutions: “I think 20 games is fine. The issue is qualification. It’s unnecessary. Just let everyone play the WL. Some people won’t qualify and some won’t have time.”
No qualification would certainly cut down on matches and allow everyone to participate. It would cap the maximum amount of games at 20, which is what players are asking for.
While players agreed that 20 games in three days would be bearable without qualification, they also stated that adding to the three-day schedule would make the grind a more appealing task.
Having more than just Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to complete the required matches is a change players would love to see: “For me it would be much better if WL was extended to the same schedule that during TOTS, it was much less stressful and I could better organise my time to play them all.”
