Auburn baseball vs. Arkansas: live score updates from Game 3 at Plainsman Park – Montgomery Advertiser

AUBURN — Auburn baseball is still trying to prove itself against the SEC heavyweights.
This time the Tigers get to do it at home, where they had won seven consecutive games entering this weekend’s top-20 SEC clash.
They went wire-to-wire with No. 1 Tennessee last weekend in a thrilling 2-1 road series loss. Now Auburn (32-15, 13-10 SEC) faces No. 3 Arkansas (35-12, 15-8) in a weekend clash at Plainsman Park.
It’s the latest pivotal test for coach Butch Thompson’s No. 18 team that hopes to host a regional. Auburn blew a 5-0 lead in an 11-8 Game 1 loss then rallied for two runs in the eighth inning of a 5-3 win Saturday.
That sets up a critical decisive Game 3 on Sunday (1 p.m., SEC Network Plus). Auburn sends its sophomore ace, Joseph Gonzalez (6-1, 2.30), to the mound against Arkansas’ Jaxon Wiggins (5-1, 5.75).
